Osama Abulseoud, M.D.

Osama Abulseoud, M.D. (PSUB ’11), has been named interim chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. His clinical and translational research expertise is focused on mood and addictive disorders. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Abulseoud established a post-COVID neuropsychiatric clinic to investigate the disease phenotype and perform back translation in preclinical models to identify the disease process and potential therapeutic targets. Dr. Abulseoud succeeds Robert Bright, M.D. (P ’07), who stepped down due to health concerns. Dr. Abulseoud’s appointment is effective immediately.
