Paula Santrach, M.D. receives Mayo Clinic Diamond Quality Fellow Lifetime Achievement Award

Paula Santrach, M.D. (BLBK ’90), Division of Transfusion Medicine, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a Mayo Clinic Diamond Quality Fellow Lifetime Achievement Award for her leadership and commitment to quality and patient safety.

As a leader focused on hospital metrics, she has significantly contributed to Mayo achieving national recognition by Vizient, a health care performance improvement company, for clinical quality leadership excellence. In 2018 Dr. Santrach received the Outstanding Contributions to Management Sciences and Patient Safety Award from the American Association for Clinical Chemistry. In 2017 she received the Founder’s Award from the American College of Medical Quality for outstanding contributions by an individual to the field of medical quality management or clinical quality improvement.

Dr. Santrach is an associate professor of laboratory medicine and pathology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
