Pedro Caraballo, M.D. (ADGM ’98), Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was part of a team that received a research award from the Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics for the project “ENTRUST AI: Ensuring the Trustworthiness of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Models to Optimize Continual Patient Safety.” He will collaborate with others from Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. These two-year projects focus on improving the treatment of diseases that affect Minnesotans. Projects are selected based on the quality and rigor of the proposed research, the importance of the medical need, and the potential for future commercialization. The teams consist of researchers from Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. Selected projects must be collaborative, and the projects must be ones that could not be pursued solely by either institution. Dr. Caraballo is an associate professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
