Peter Amadio, M.D., is deputy director, Mayo Clinic Center for Military Medicine

Peter Amadio, M.D. (OR ’83), chair, Division of Orthopedic Research, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, is the deputy director of the Mayo Clinic Center for Military Medicine and associate director for the center in Rochester. This organization-wide center will coordinate all military-related practice, education and research programs, collaborations and issues within Mayo Clinic. The center will address gaps, increase access and work to better understand opportunities around military medicine, research and education. The center will provide a central point of contact for the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies.

Dr. Amadio will work closely with Pierre Noel, M.D. (HEM ’86), medical director of the Center for Military Medicine.

Dr. Amadio has a joint appointment in the Department of Health Sciences Research. He is a professor of biomedical engineering and orthopedics in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Dr. Amadio is secretary-treasurer of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association.
