Rahma Warsame, M.D.

 Rahma Warsame, M.D. (I ’13, HEMO ’16, HEMO ’17), a resident in the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, has been named a 2017 Kern Scholar.

The Kern Scholars Program, sponsored by Mayo Clinic’s Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery, trains clinicians to use tools from applied sciences to rigorously assess and improve patient-centered outcomes and health care delivery systems.

Her research focuses on investigating existing health care delivery systems to improve quality of life, patient-reported outcomes and financial toxicity in patients with amyloidosis and multiple myeloma. She is working on incorporating patient perspectives into clinical practice and determining their effect on clinical outcomes.

Dr. Warsame also is an assistant professor of medicine and oncology.
