Renaldo Blocker, Ph.D., recognized for Excellence in Mentoring by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership

Renaldo Blocker, Ph.D. (HSR ’13), Division of Health Care Policy and Research, Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was recognized for Excellence in Mentoring by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership at a Library of Congress reception in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Blocker is a finalist for the Impactful Philanthropy Award for his work with a nonprofit foundation that he cofounded, The “Why You?” Initiative Inc. The mission of this initiative is to eradicate barriers to academic and professional success experienced by underrepresented high school students, undergraduates, graduate and professional students, and young professionals.

Dr. Blocker is an assistant professor of health care systems engineering in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
