Ruth E. Johnson, M.D., elected to University of Minnesota Board of Regents
Ruth E. Johnson, M.D. (MED ’78, P ’79, PATH ’82, I ’84), Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was elected to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents by the Minnesota state legislature.
Dr. Johnson was elected to the First Congressional district seat and is among four new members elected to the board this year. Each member of the unpaid board represents Minnesota’s eight congressional districts and four from the state at large. Dr. Johnson will serve a six-year term on the board and vote on major decisions that affect the university such as budget changes and tuition increases, and drive long-term initiatives like the University’s recently announced collaboration with Google.
Dr. Johnson is an associate professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
