Ryan Hurt, M.D., Ph.D. (GIM ’09), and William Sanchez, M.D. (I ’02, CMR ’03, TRNM ’04, GI ’07), interim co-chairs, Mayo Clinic in Rochester
Ryan Hurt, M.D., Ph.D. (GIM ’09), and William Sanchez, M.D. (I ’02, CMR ’03, TRNM ’04, GI ’07), will serve as interim co-chairs of the Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, effective Monday, May 13, while the search for a permanent chair continues. The position is open after Vijay Shah, M.D. (GI ’98), became the new Kinney Executive Dean of Research.
Dr. Hurt is a professor of medicine and vice chair of the Division of General Internal Medicine. He is also director of the Department of Medicine’s home parenteral and enteral nutrition program.
Dr. Sanchez is an associate professor of medicine, consultant in Gastroenterology, and chair of the Department of Medicine’s Outpatient Practice Committee and Enterprise Mayo Clinic Cancer Center’s Practice Committee.
