Samuel Asirvatham, M.D., receives American College of Cardiology’s Distinguished Teacher Award

Samuel Asirvatham, M.D. (CVEP ’00), Division of Heart Rhythm Services, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the at the group’s annual scientific sessions.

The award recognizes a fellow of the ACC who has demonstrated innovative, outstanding teaching characteristics and compassion qualities and, because of these attributes, has made major contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine at the national or international level.

Dr. Asirvatham has joint appointments in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine; and the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering. He also is a professor of medicine and pediatrics in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
