Sarosh Irani, B.M., B.Ch., D.Phil.

Sarosh Irani, B.M., B.Ch., D.Phil. (N ’23), is the senior author of a research paper that won the 2024 Cozzarelli Prize, an annual award given by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) recognizing papers of outstanding scientific excellence and originality published in the journal. The research paper, “Ultrahigh frequencies of peripherally matured LGI1—and CASPR2-reactive B cells characterize the cerebrospinal fluid in autoimmune encephalitis,” was selected by PNAS as its leading paper in biomedical sciences — one of six categories for the Cozzarelli Prize. Dr. Irani is a neurologist and scientist at Mayo Clinic in Florida studying autoimmune neurological diseases.
