Shehzad Niazi, M.D. (P ’12), chair, Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Mayo Clinic in Florida

Shehzad Niazi, M.D. (P ’12), has been named chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Florida. As an associate professor of psychiatry and a consultant within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Dr. Niazi serves on Mayo Clinic in Florida’s Employee Well-Being Committee, Clinical Systems Site Coordinating Subcommittee, Enterprise Patient Clinical Question Approval (PCQA) Committee and Mayo Clinic’s Enterprise Transplant Research Committee. His clinical focus is on caring for the mental health needs of patients with complex medical and surgical needs, such as transplant and cancer patients. Dr. Niazi succeeds William Bobo, M.D. (P ’12), who is transitioning out of his role as chair.
