Stephen Ansell, M.D., Ph.D., receives Ernest Beutler Lecture and Prize from American Society of Hematology

Stephen Ansell, M.D., Ph.D. (I ’96, HEMO ’99), Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will receive the Ernest Beutler Lecture and Prize from the American Society of Hematology in the group’s Honorific Awards at its annual meeting in December. The Honorific Awards recognize exemplary hematologists who have made significant contributions to the field. Dr. Ansell, the translational/clinical awardee, focuses on understanding the tumor microenvironment in lymphoma and was able to develop treatment strategies that block inhibitory signals or deplete suppressive cells to eradicate cancer.

Dr. Ansell is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
