Sunghwan Sohn, Ph.D. (I ’08, HSR ’09), Department of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received an award from the Eric & Wendy Schmidt Fund for AI Research & Innovation, Mayo Clinic Department of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics. Award recipients conduct innovative research in AI and machine learning to accelerate next-generation tools that improve patient care at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Sohn’s project is “Unleashing Functional Status Information in EHR Toward Precision Health Care.” Dr. Sohn is an associate professor of biomedical informatics in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
