Thomas Olson, Ph.D., obtains NIH R01 grant
Thomas Olson, Ph.D. (CV ’08), Division of Preventive Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, obtained a National Institutes of Health R01 grant for “Improving Cardiac Rehabilitation Outcomes through Mobile Case Management (iCARE).”
His research aims to determine the effectiveness of delivering patient-centered individualized cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programming through a mobile health (mHealth) remote case management system to increase participation in and adherence to CR programming, improve known modifiable cardiovascular disease risk factors, and improve near- and mid-term patient-centered outcomes including re-hospitalizations and mortality.
Dr. Olson is an associate professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
