Thomas Witzig, M.D.

Thomas Witzig, M.D. (HEM ’86), Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was named deputy director of translational research for Mayo Clinic Cancer Center (MCCC). As part of the MCCC senior leadership team, he’ll be involved in maintaining the MCCC’s National Cancer Institute (NCI) Cancer Center Support Grant and Mayo’s designation as an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Witzig will facilitate translational research among MCCC members, with a focus on promoting outstanding discovery and extending the findings to MCC programs and Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) grants.

Dr. Witzig also is a professor of medicine.
