Vesna Garovic, M.D., Ph.D. (NEPH ’99), is dean, Mayo Clinic Rochester
Vesna Garovic, M.D., Ph.D. (NEPH ’99), chair, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, is now dean for Clinical and Translational Science and principal investigator of the NIH-funded Mayo Clinic Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCaTS). An internationally recognized expert in the hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, including preeclampsia, Dr. Garovic conducts research that has been continuously funded by the NIH since 2008. As a clinician investigator, her work has spanned both clinical and discovery science, including clinical medicine, epidemiology, basic science and molecular biology. She also is deeply committed to training the next generation of researchers. Dr. Garvic is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
