Virend Somers, M.D., Ph.D., named 2018 Arthur C. Corcoran Memorial Lecturer, American Heart Association

Virend Somers, M.D., Ph.D. (HYT ’99), Division of Preventive Cardiology, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was named the 2018 Arthur C. Corcoran Memorial Lecturer.

The lectureship was established in 1977 in honor of Arthur Curtis Corcoran. Dr. Somers’ lecture will be presented at the American Heart Association’s Joint Hypertension 2018 Scientific Sessions in Chicago, Illinois, in September.

Dr. Somers is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
