Virend Somers MD, Ph.D. (CV ’99), received the highest honor, Mayo Clinic Rochester

Virend Somers MD, Ph.D. (CV ’99), Division of Preventive Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the highest honor of the Czech Society of Cardiology — the Libensky Gold Medal for contributions to the science of cardiovascular disease — at the society’s 30th Annual Meeting. Dr. Somers is the Alice Sheets Marriott Professor and a Mayo Foundation Distinguished Investigator. Dr. Somers is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
