William D. Freeman, M.D. (TY ’02, N ’05, CCMN ’06), selected for a program, Mayo Clinic Florida

William D. Freeman, M.D. (TY ’02, N ’05, CCMN ’06), Department of Neurologic Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Florida, was selected for the Convergence Science Program through Innovation Alliances at Mayo Clinic in Florida. The program matches researchers with final-year undergraduate engineering students to advance ideas to practical, usable techniques and products in an early prototype stage. The projects have received an award to fund undergraduate engineering students from the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech for the 2024 spring semester. Dr. Freeman aims to develop a deep tendon reflex measure device to remotely measure deep tendon reflexes to diagnose neurological conditions. Dr. Freeman is a professor of neurologic surgery and neurology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
