William Palmer, M.D.

William Palmer, M.D. (I ’13, GI ’15, HEPT ’16), has been selected as the Dean of Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development (MCSCPD). Dr. Palmer is directly accountable to Fredric Meyer, M.D. (NS ’88), Waugh Executive Dean of Education. Dr. Palmer will collaborate closely with Margaret Johnson, M.D. (THDCC ’96), Dean of Education in Florida and Devyani Lal, M.D. (ENT ’10), Dean of Education in Arizona, to continue the school’s legacy of innovation and excellence in professional development. In partnership with Garrett Schramm, Pharm.D., the school’s senior director, this position is responsible for overseeing continuing medical education and maintenance of certification activities across the organization in addition to implementing the school’s strategic vision for continuous professional development for physicians and allied health staff. Dr. Palmer succeeds Mitchell Humphreys, M.D. (U ’06), whose visionary leadership signifcantly advanced the school.
