Yonghe Li, Ph.D. (NSCI ’17), a research associate at Mayo Clinic in Florida, received a grant from the Florida Department of Health’s Ed and Ethel Moore Alzheimer’s Disease Research Program.

Dr. Li’s team is investigating rational drug design to develop a potential therapy for Alzheimer’s disease. Specifically, the study will explore a novel class of drugs to enhance a signaling pathway known as Wnt/β-catenin that’s known to promote neuronal survival and functional connections between neurons.

Dr. Li is an assistant professor of neuroscience in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
