Zerelda Esquer Garrigos, M.D., receives Mayo Clinic Individual Award for Service Excellence

Zerelda Esquer Garrigos, M.D. (INFD ’19, IDTX ’20), Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a Mayo Clinic Individual Award for Service Excellence for exhibiting high standards of ethics and performance, for having interpersonal skills that demonstrate respect and support for people, for Mayo’s goals and principles, and for inspiring and motivating others.

A nominator said, “Dr. Esquer’s ability to connect deeply with her patients and willingness to support them emotionally through some of the most trying times in their lives is what makes her a unique physician and person. She is respected by her co-fellows and recognized by nursing staff in the outpatient ID clinic for her judgment and ability to leverage the team’s effort for the best patient care.”

Dr. Esquer Garrigos is an instructor in medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
