Zhenkun Lou, Ph.D., receives Developmental Research Program Award

Zhenkun Lou, Ph.D. (PHAR ’01, ONCL ’06), Division of Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the 2016-2017 Developmental Research Program Award from the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) for his project “RINT1: A New BRCA2 Regulator.”

Dr. Lou’s project hypothesizes that the protein RINT1 is an important regulator of BRCA2 and homologous recombination repair, and that RINT1 mutation is a marker for breast cancer therapy.

Dr. Lou is a professor of pharmacology.
