David Holmes Jr., M.D., is subject of Pioneers in Cardiology Series profile in European Heart Journal

David Holmes Jr., M.D. (I ’74, CV ’76), Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was the subject of a Pioneers in Cardiology Series profile in European Heart Journal.

In the article, he provides advice to young people: ” … identify role models, listen to them, interact with them, find out what has made their light go on, and then fashion your own career with bits and pieces borrowed or given by these mentors. … There are a handful of people here in Rochester and around the world that I could identify, that exemplify creativity, problem-solving, excitement, passion, integrity, and honesty and these are the qualities that you should identify and then internalise, so that you can then externalise them for the next generation. It is a circle of giving and borrowing and creating and expanding and healing.”
