Joy Wolfram, Ph.D., selected as internationally accomplished Finn in campaign to celebrate Finland’s 100 years of independence
Joy Wolfram, Ph.D. (PATH ’89, LABM ’91, Division of Transplant Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida, was selected by Inspired in Finland as one of 12 internationally accomplished Finns in a campaign to celebrate Finland’s 100 years of independence. The group includes Nobel laureates, prominent authors and professional athletes.
Dr. Wolfram’s nanomedicine lab is developing new treatments for metastatic cancer and forms of liver damage.
Her work in nanomedicine also resulted in her inclusion on an international poster celebrating Marie Curie’s 150th birthday and the contributions of women from 25 countries in medical physics. The poster was sponsored by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine in the United Kingdom, and it commemorated the International Day of Medical Physics on Nov. 7.
