Mayo Fellows’ Association presents 2017 Teacher of the Year Awards

The Mayo Fellows’ Association honored Rochester faculty members with Teacher of the Year Awards at an annual awards celebration. The event was sponsored by Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, Mayo Fellows’ Association and Mayo Clinic Alumni Association.

Teacher of the Year Awards at Mayo Clinic originated in 1970 as an expression of appreciation. Nominees are made by residents and fellows of the respective departments and are voted on by all members of the Mayo Fellows’ Association. Winning characteristics of recipients have always included dedication to resident teaching, going above and beyond regular duties, and serving as mentors for young physicians in training. The Teacher of the Year Hall of Fame was created in 1986 to recognize those who have received the award on at least three occasions.
