Daniel Ben Hurwich, MD, age 55, of Munster, IN, formerly of Lincolnwood, respected gastroenterologist who practiced for 25 years; beloved husband and best friend of Karyn, nee Kogen; amazing father of Risa, Allie and David; devoted son of Janet and the late Saul; cherished brother of Linda Hurwich (Andrew) Mendelson; Loving son in law of Sheldon and Deborah Kogen; dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth (Dr. Jay Korach) Kogen and Michael (Dr. Bonnie Salomon) Kogen; treasured uncle to Diana, Sam, Daniel, Hannah and Jonathan. Dan left an indelible impact on everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all. Service Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 blk N. of Lake Cook Rd.).
