Lee Forstrom, M.D., Ph.D. (RNUC ’80)

FORSTROM, LEE A.

Age 86, of Minneapolis, passed away April 1, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Ione, and one daughter, Jennifer. Lee was born in Sherburn, MN and raised in and around Lanesboro. After attending the University of Minnesota, Lee obtained an M.D. from Yale University and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, England. Lee served in the Army as a Green Beret, and spent most of his life as a physician of Nuclear Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy; daughter, Kerstin (Tim); sons, Michael (Katie) and Eric (Breanne); grandchildren, Martin, Anna, Evan, Juliette, Gabe, and Ethan; and two sisters, Patricia and Sharon. Funeral services are open to the public on Saturday, April 8, at 12:00 p.m. (visitation), 1:00 p.m. service, Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th Street. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery following service.
