MARK HOEPFNER Mark T. Hoepfner, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Saturday, September 29, 2018. Born in Bremerton, Washington to Phyllis and John Hoepfner, September 18, 1955, he was raised in Bremerton and then attended Seattle University where he met his wife, Kristina Holman, whom he married in 1983. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Seattle University) and then his B.S. in Biochemistry (
University of Washington). He attended University of Washington Medical School. After completion of his residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (including a fellowship year in gastrointestinal surgery research), he and Kristina made their home in Las Vegas. A caring, loving and brilliant doctor, Mark was ranked among the top-rated surgeons by various publications/organizations, and he was recognized by Senator Harry Reid as one of Vegas Inc’s Top Doctors in 2014. Mark took great pleasure in cooking, and his family and friends looked forward to his wonderful gourmet dinners at home. He always brought a smile to others with his sense of humor, and, he will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Mark is survived by his wife, Kristina; children, Matthew Hoepfner (Seattle) and Alicia Hoepfner (Napa, California); his mother, Phyllis Hoepfner; brothers, Patrick (Virginia) and Peter (Alaska); and nieces, Sarah and Haley. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Viator Catholic Church, 4150 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. A reception will be held after the service at the home.
