Richard E. Perry, M.D. (OR 1962)

Richard E. Perry, M.D., Dr. Perry was born in Allentown, PA. He received his B.S degree from Villanova College and his M.D. degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia in 1955. He interned at Philadelphia General Hospital, and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. From 1962-65, Dr. Perry was instrumental in organizing and being the first U.S. Representative for Project Viet Nam – a program designed to treat the Vietnamese civilian casualties of the Viet Nam War. Among his numerous memberships, affiliations and certifications, Dr. Perry was a Diplomat of the prestigious American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 30 years Mary, his son, Richard Perry, III, his daughter, Ann Perry M.D., his stepson Richard G. Said, his brothers David and Peter, their families, relatives and friends. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation, The Tampa Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.
