He retired from full-time practice in 1999. In his private life, Bob loved history, woodworking, sailing, performing Dixieland jazz, Stanford Cardinal athletics and SF 49’ers football, Bob also passionately supported the academic, athletic, and artistic activities in which his grandchildren participated. He was preceded in death by his sister Constance McCallum and survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Anne, his daughters Constance (Andrew) O’Sullivan, Carolyn (Bruce) Leslie, Susan Dinapoli (Scott Flemming), and his nine grandchildren; Connor, Drew, Anna, Olivia, Cameron, Christopher, Andrew, Lucas, and Cordelia with whom he shared abundant joy and humor. The family extends their gratitude to the staffs of Charter House and Mayo Hospice for their abiding support and care.
