DR. STEPHEN BLAINE SCHROEDER, 79, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at Tampa General Hospital. After receiving his medical training at Mayo Clinic, Steve was a neurosurgeon for 25 years in Fort Wayne. In retirement, he and his wife spent winters in Sarasota, Fla., where he sat on several boards and enjoyed boating and golfing. Steve was a proud and doting grandfather and took great delight in seeing his grandchildren and cooking for his family. He absolutely loved being the “Pancake Papa”. He was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Schroeder; daughter, Amanda (Matt) Elliott; son, Blaine Schroeder; grandchildren, Ben, Braden, Claire, Amelia, Jack, and Emily; and brothers, Mike (Pam) of Arizona, and Dan (Linda) and Walt (Barb), both of Fort Wayne. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
