Patricia Pellikka, M.D., named editor-in-chief, Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography

Patricia Pellikka, M.D. (MED ’83, CV ’89), chair, Division of Cardiovascular Ultrasound at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will become the fourth editor-in-chief of theJournal of the American Society of Echocardiography(JASE) on Jan. 1.

Dr. Pellikka is the Betty Knight Scripps Professor of Cardiovascular Disease Clinical Research at Mayo Clinic, professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and director of Mayo Clinic’s Ultrasound Research Center.

Dr. Pellikka has published more than 500 peer-reviewed manuscripts and served on the editorial boards of major cardiology journals including associate editor of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. She served as president of the American Society of Echocardiography from 2012 to 2013 and recently served as chair of the group’s Industry Relations Committee.
