Welcome Surgery Alumni!

Dear Mayo Clinic Alumni-

It is my pleasure to write you as the Secretary-Treasurer of  the Mayo Clinic Surgical Society in Honor of James T. Priestley. If you are not familiar with this society, it is a Mayo Alumni Association for surgeons who are currently on staff at any of the three sites, trained at Mayo, or former staff members at Mayo. Residents and fellows who worked with Dr. James T. Priestley founded the Mayo Clinic Surgical Society in Honor of James T. Priestley in April 1965. Dr. Priestley was a prominent Mayo Clinic surgeon with a national and international reputation. He had a great deal of enthusiasm for teaching young residents, taking care of patients, and the craft of surgery.

I think you will find the Mayo Clinic Surgical Society in Honor of James T. Priestley an engaging, exciting, and stimulating society to be a part of. The society currently consists of more than 600 members made up of Mayo surgical alumni throughout the world. We meet once a year for scientific exchange as well as for renewal of friendships at various social events. If you have any questions regarding the society or issues regarding joining the society, please do not hesitate to call or write me at any time. We would be very pleased to have you join the society as a new member.

Sincerely,

Sami Khan, M.D.

Secretary-Treasurer, Mayo Clinic Surgical Society in Honor of James T. Priestley
